Below is a picture of Ira's windpipe, also known as the trachea, before the granuloma was removed. You can obviously see a couple of tiny holes between the piece of granula and the trachea but to think that Ira was voicing through those tiny holes is amazing. They'll probably put in a smaller trach at that point as another step in the direction of taking the trach out completely.

Victims' daughter in legal challenge to commissioners
