New CSUF class educates students about the plight of the great apes From The Daily Titan Mark as Spam Change Category The Anthropology Department and the part-time anthropology professor will offer "Great Ape Conservation" this spring semester. "Everybody's got to wake up because we're losing animals at such a rapid rate, it's just incredible," Rosen said. Rosen first learned of primates' adverse conditions when the anthropologist took a trip to Africa 20 years ago. The Anthropology Department does offer a few courses that address primates - Rosen's primate behavior class being one of them.

Dance performance surprises class From SIU Daily Egyptian Mark as Spam Change Category The sixth grade students of Giant City Elementary School came to the class and performed one traditional Mexican folklore dance and one traditional Puerto Rican dance. "She said we were going to have a guest speaker today," said Danielle Rios, a sophomore from Chicago studying administration of justice. Susan McMeen, literature arts teacher at Giant City Elementary School, said the students have been studying Mexican culture while reading a Hispanic novel called Esperanza Rising.
