Girl who lost feet describes ordeal

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- A Kentucky teenager who lost both feet when an amusement park ride malfunctioned described her ordeal in a deposition filed this week. Kaitlyn, in her deposition, said the problems started on the upward ride, and that riders were screaming to the operator to stop it.

In the statement, Kaitlyn, now 14, described going to the park with friends and getting on the Superman Tower of Power ride for a second time when the ride broke. With no line for the ride, they switched seats and took the 177-foot, high speed ride a second time. The ride kept going up as the girls screamed for someone to stop the ride, Kaitlyn said.
