Theme Park Stays Shut After Worker Dies

Michael Ross Stuart of Papakura died yesterday after he became trapped in one of the park's rides shortly before the usual opening time of 10am. He said some members of Mr Stuart's family arrived at the theme park after the accident. Details of how the accident occurred were not known yesterday, but the police said it appeared Mr Stuart had become trapped between one of the gondola compartments and the frame of the ride while he was cleaning it. Day of Fun at Theme Park Turns Into a Tragedy

Jeddah theme park turned into a bloody scene when a three-year-old boy died after a train ran over him. The boy was riding the train at Atallah Park on Jeddah's Corniche when his seat belt came loose. Arab News covered an accident last summer at Al-Shallal Theme Park, also located on Jeddah's Corniche.
