When Alex Abnos wants to rock out, he grabs his ukulele. After becoming facile on the drums, a teenage Abnos realized he wanted to play more instruments. Dinosaur Jr. coming to Israel in summer of 2008

Dinosaur Jr, one of the greatest alternative rock bands around, is scheduled to appear in Tel Aviv's Zappa Club on June 9-10. The group, which was formed in Amherst, Massachusetts in 1984, broke up in 1997, but the original lineup of guitarist J Mascis, drummer Emmett Murphy and bassist Lou Barlow reunited two years ago and released "Beyond" last May. On Jan. 25, 2008, 99X, Atlanta's prime radio source for "everything alternative," went off the airwaves for good, marking the end of a radio era. Now with 99.7 off of FM radio (the station still exists but only online and in HD format, and the shows and DJs that contributed to the frequency's success have not been carried over) Atlanta is left with a dearth of credible rock stations.
