JHU music fans refuse to explore other genres

Many listeners, like my death metal co-worker, tend to side with one particular style of music, proclaim loyalty and ignore the rest, pledging a musical allegiance. I grew up listening to my parents' music, namely "classic rock," but as music has developed I've embraced it rather than sticking to my roots. I don't want to say don't know a lot about music but I just don't trust a lot of people's taste in music, especially people who like a lot of the genres I dislike."

Mass. Market: WBOS/92.9 tosses the dice on change of format

Commercial spawns interest in sound

Brick A: You seem to be in good company among people asking that question in the past month since Dunkin' Donuts re-released a 30-second version of its 2006 one-minute commercial featuring the song, "Things I Like To Do," by They Might Be Giants. Fun fact: The alternative rock duo of John Flansburgh and John Linnell put out an album, "Venue Songs," in 2004 that features a song they wrote about the Stone Pony nightclub in Asbury Park.
