NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - The findings of a new study suggest that nasal allergies can cause chronic secretory otitis media, a condition involving persistent drainage of fluid from the ear that usually results from ear infections. Kids Developing Peanut Allergies Earlier

The new Duke study published in the Journal of Pediatrics shows the first allergic reaction to peanuts in children born between 1995 and 1997 used to occur in children at 2 to 3 years of age. Burks says people are at increased risk of peanut allergy if other allergies, especially other types of food allergies, are common in their family. Noah's family doesn't plan to stock up on peanuts, but if Noah were to eat food with peanut protein, the reaction, if any, might not be as bad.

Cheers! Atlanta low on the list of 'drunken' cities

In its December issue, in the handful of pages not devoted to developing ripped abs, the magazine claims that out of 100 U.S. cities, Atlanta is almost at the bottom, ranking 12th least drunk. The magazine compiled the list by tabulating each city's numbers for alcohol-related liver deaths, binge drinking, DUI arrests, fatal car accidents involving alcohol and grades from Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
