TidalTV won't have banner ads like other streaming video sites, but its commercial interruptions won't be exactly like traditional ones, either, Spilman said. Spilman would not disclose TidalTV's media partners yet, but said they include broadcast networks, cable channels, and other channels that aren't found on TV and would be based on the online video of magazine Web sites or other entertainment sources.

Internet Ad Revenue Exceeds $21B in 2007

NEW YORK (AP) Online advertising revenues exceeded $21 billion for the first time in 2007, although preliminary data compiled by an industry trade group also suggest growth is slowing. PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, which conducts a quarterly survey for the advertising trade group using data from the 15 largest online ad sellers, said fourth-quarter revenues totaled about $5.9 billion, topping the previous record of $5.2 billion in the third quarter.

She says their "approach is as different to current advertising platforms as the DVR was to VCRs" Apparently this new platform is already being demoed (though the link on the demo goes to the wrong page) so this may be more than 2012 vaporware talk. She places a very big value in targeted serving, but not in the vogue-ish manner of advertiser to web-user, but rather it sounds like she is talking about the best advertiser serving on the most appropriate publisher, which I think is much better.
