Sonic Blaster Makers Rebuffed

The Government Accountability Office has rejected claims by sonic blaster competitors that the U.S. Navy unfair selected the Long Range Acoustic Device over competing designs for an acoustic hailing device. We do not agree with the protesters that they were treated unreasonably in the shout-off test, even though the agency did not use the same message, or set of messages, to assess the voice intelligibility of the firms' devices in the shout-off tests and only used recorded messages.
