Strange phone call
From www.67601.com/
Hey anyone else receive a phone call that started out with bongo drums (lol) and a Nigerian male saying his wife has been kidnapped? Last time they tried calling me (back in October) I was able to call them back multiple times the same evening, and give them an earful of what sounded like acid/jazz. Sometime when a telemarketer calls just say "Hey, are you masturbating too?" I prefer to ask if it is a female caller "Hey baby what are you wearing?"

Best Albums of 2007: #20 to #11
From obscuresound.com
An album that is as smart as it is addictive, From Here We Go Sublime is a minimalist techno gem. Primarily a piano-led album with heavy doses of reverb, Love or Die is consistently in use of triple metre structures (a structure with three beats per bar). 15 or so years - with the calculatedly provocative mention of "apartheid": "My fears are that you enlarge the divisions in society between those for whom the arts are a part of life and people who think they are impossibly obscure and incomprehensible ... But all things aren't equal: the "choice" of going to the theatre or the opera or an art gallery doesn't exist for vast numbers of people in this country, who, if they feel anything at all about art, feel disenfranchised. I know now that...

The James Taylor Quartet
From Times Online
With their regular 'guest' vocalist Yvonne Yanney at the helm, the four musicians at the core of the group hammered through some ultra-funk gems including There's a Break in Every Road, and ended with Jan Jan, an instrumental tour de force that took off like a rocket. For all the smooth excellence of the Motown section after which followedthe interval, it was nothing compared with the raw, joyously propulsive surge of excitement generated by this much more hardcore opening set. Contact our...
