Ban on torture would enhance US standing From The PatriotNews PennLive.com President Bush has repeatedly denied that the U.S. used torture, but as defined by international law, to which the U.S. is a signatory, these techniques constitute torture. Where this is different is that torture is being sanctioned at the highest levels of the U.S. government to the extreme detriment of this nation's ability to occupy the moral high ground that Americans are fond of claiming.
