Cooke Aquaculture announces salmon certification

The standard is said to be the world s first international aquaculture eco-label certification programme to be accredited to EN45011/ IS065 standards the international standard for product certification programmes. The certified quality salmon standards are designed to identify premium environmentally managed products and to assist the international aquaculture industry in demonstrating and proving its commitment to environmentally sustainable development, low impact farming and conservation when producing and processing seafood. Applicants must be able to demonstrate compliance with set standards to become a Seafood Trust Eco-Certified Member through assessment by IFQC (Independent Food Quality Certification) Ltd., an independent certification body.
