Brazil tells EU envoy it not pleased with beef ban

RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - Brazil's foreign ministry has told European Union's business envoy the administration was not pleased with the bloc's rejection of a government-approved beef exporters list, which led to a ban on Brazilian beef imports last week. The EU banned beef imports from Brazil from Jan. 31 by not including any of Brazilian ranches on the list of authorized suppliers meeting EU's health norms even though Brazil had presented a locally approved list of 2,600 farms.
